Study Abroad Programme

The Study Abroad Programme at UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems provides an exciting opportunity to advance your knowledge of nursing and midwifery while studying at one of Ireland’s leading universities.

As the oldest University School of Nursing & Midwifery in Ireland our aim is to provide students with the very best opportunities and supports to pursue studies in nursing, midwifery and to promote safe, efficient and person-centered professional practice. We offer undergraduate study abroad courses in four areas - General (Adult) Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Children’s Nursing, and Midwifery.

Students may attend for the Fall semester, the Spring semester or the full academic year. We assist you with every aspect of the programme from your application, to module selection, accommodation, cultural adjustment and with becoming a UCD student during your time here. A free cultural programme is on offer to you with trips to sites of historical interest in Dublin and around Ireland. There are a wide variety of student supports at your disposal, as well as access to our student centre, and the large range of UCD clubs and societies.

The grading system at UCD is European. It is quite different from North American schools.  At UCD A,B,C are honors grades. D is a pass grade.
